Total viable count
Water Treatment for Closed Heating and Cooling Systems (BG 50/2021), second edition, by Dr Pamela Simpson, published by BSRIA in 2021, defines total viable count (TVC) as: ‘…a measure of the number of aerobic bacteria present in a sample. The result is expressed as cfu/ml.’
This is also known as aerobic colony count.
